Link to WLT_Drupal
This is a link to the WLT_Drupal web site which is a work-in-progressive currently at a more primitive state. It is also a companion, but more complex, site to this "Joomla-powered" web site. Ideally the WLT_Drupal site will have the same content as does this one, the WLT-Research site, but also have better searching and other "web 2.0" features.

NYT: 2012-2013 The Year of the MOOC (Massive Open Online Courses)
The New York Times of Friday 12.11.02 published this report about the recent large increase of MOOCs: massive open online courses. In Fall 2011 Stanford U. was the first US university to offer three free (open) online undergraduate courses in Artificial Intelligence. Over 90,000 students worldwide responded to the news and registered. A small fraction of that number completed the classes and received a certificate of completion but no college credit. As of Fall 2012 at least 3 top US universities, one new non-profit company, and Google have offered MOOCs in a variety of subjects. The total number of online students is over 2 million! But are the courses worth the effort it takes to create them, the effort for students to complete them, and the expense for new grading software to grade students' performance in them? Is this the latest example in the computer industry and in online information -- and now training -- delivery of bait and switch? Will courses that are available free for the next few years suddenly charge fees? And will only the largest for-profit education corporations and the best endowed universities with the best technical resources be able to afford the production and delivery of these online courses?
