"Digital Promise [is] a new government and private industry-sponsored non-profit organization and web site (created) by President Obama and Secretary of Education Arnie Duncan to advance technologies that (supposedly) can transform teaching and learning. The White House said preliminary results from a US military "digital tutor" project [jgw: an artificial intelligence-based project existing since the 1980s!] suggested the time needed to become an expert in information technology could be reduced from years to months. Achieving similar results in subjects such as math would transform K-12 [US primary] education."
