In short: IBM's latest greatest version of their "Watson" artificially intelligent (AI) computing system will compete with the best ever Jeopardy show contestants on live television. "Watson" in a previous less smart state of AI called "Deep Blue" won a second chess match with Grand Master Gary Kasparov in 1997. This was the first time an AI computer won a chess match with a human chess master. Apparently playing Jeopardy is much more difficult than playing chess.
