A New York Times editorial of 10.08.17 states that by the plans of the multinational agencies "in charge" of Haitian redevelopment, K-12 education in Haiti will be public by 2030 -- in 20 years. This implies that the parents or guardians of 1-2 generations of K-12 Haitians will either have to pay for private schooling, the only other choice already "in-place" in Haiti, or let their children remain illiterate probably for the rest of their lives.
