LiveStream (free & fee)
LiveStream.com has offered free and (for a small fee) commercial free video streaming since the late 2000s. Groups and individuals can sign-up for the free service, schedule a live broadcast, "air" that broadcast with web cameras from 1+ points of transmission. The producers can also record the "aired" programs for replay at a later time or for continuous replay when there is no live "broadcast" on the web.

UStream TV (free & fee)
UStream.tv may be a N.E. USA-based web service. UStream offers FREE and for-a-fee one-way video conferencing service to anyone who registers on their site to use their service. The free service includes commercials which all your video stream users must suffer to view and hear. The registered user, assumed to be a presenter with a web camera, schedules a "presentation" or "performance". Would-be audience members sign up for the event and probably receive 1+ email warnings that the event will start "soon". As of Aug. 1, 2010, this investigator does not know what is the maximum number of simultaneous online audience members allowed in one video conference event, nor if 2 or more "presenters" (also called discussion moderators) are allowed to use their home-office web cameras and microphones to present themselves, their speaking, and any "additional materials".

HotConference.com
The HotConference service is usable only on PCs, laptops, maybe tablets, smart phone, and cell phones, that are using the Windows operating system and a web browser program. The software is very good for audio, video and text-chat web conferencing. The service cost about $25 to rent one online conference room for one month; $45/month to rent 5 online conference rooms.

GVO Conference.com
The GVO Conference service is "version 3" of the HotConference.com service cited elsewhere on this web site. GVOConference is "platform independent". That means any computer, large to very small, with a web browser program that also accepts and uses the "Adobe Flash" browser plug-in can use the GVOConference system. The GVOConference service is usable on PCs, laptops, maybe tablets, smart phone, and cell phones except as of summer 2010 the Apple iPhone and iPad. The software is very good for audio, video and text-chat web conferencing. The service costs about $25 to rent one online conference room for one month; $45/month to rent 5 online conference rooms.

This is a pre-launch video, not yet ready for release to the general public. I.e. it may be edited before the actual GVOConference public launch date, a date probably to be in December 2010 or in January 2011. jw101118

NYT: Skype to Offer Conference Service by Q4 2011
The New York Times of 11.03.02 announced that Skype, the Internet audio and video conversation that allows ordinary telephone calls as well, will offer a multi-user business (and classroom) conferencing service by Q4 2011. The cost for this conferencing service was not disclosed. Skype already allows 3 people to conference on a Skype call, like US telephone "2nd caller" service which is audio only conferencing. The new conferencing service will allow 10s or 100s of people to have a video conference and share files on the Internet.

Big Blue Button web conferencing (FOSS)
Big Blue Button is free open source software (FOSS) that creates a web conferencing system. It is available for download at their web site or at SourceForge.net. At this writing 11.09.14 there are no binaries to download and install for specific architectures and operating systems. The service installer needs to download all necessary "C++" compilation utilities and libraries, configure the source code as directed in a readme file, "make" (compile) the code for their server, test use it and then install it for public or private user use.
