Instructional Design is the process of project-planning, designing and revising of curricula and course contents, and project management of the curriculum and course content development and deployment.

ITS stands for "intelligent tutoring system". An Intelligent Tutoring System (ITS) is an "artificially intelligent" software program usually running on a server computer including a web hosting server computer. The ITS "reasons" almost like a human being but typically just with respect to, and within, a relatively small "domain of knowledge. Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in the particular "domain of knowledge" train the ITS so that the ITS responds 90% of the time the way any of the SMEs would respond to a face-to-face human inquiry put to them. Intelligent Tutoring Systems (ITSes) are one or more artificially intelligent tutoring system, each of which in turn is a computer-based service which adds tutorial information and educational experiences usually for a given subject domain.
