Distance Learning since the advent of the Internet in 1991 has meant learning on a computer connected to the Internet. Distance Learning most simply defined is learning at a distance. With Internet access, students with a computer can minimally read course or lesson content at-a-distance in the form of "static" (fixed content) web pages. What is unique and extremely advantageous about Internet-delivered learning content is that one stored copy of a lesson, exercise, test or book page can be read by 100s and 1000s of student readers at the same time.
